Biography
Stephen Hawking (1942–2018) was an English theoretical physicist, cosmologist, and author. Despite being diagnosed with ALS at age 21 and given two years to live, he survived for 55 more years. His work on black holes and the nature of the universe, especially his book A Brief History of Time, brought complex physics to mainstream audiences. He held the Lucasian Professorship at Cambridge, a position once held by Isaac Newton.
Sun in Capricorn: what it says about Stephen Hawking
Stephen Hawking's Capricorn Sun is the triumph of mind over matter, of Saturnian discipline over physical limitation. Capricorn is ruled by Saturn — the planet of restriction, time, and the refusal to give up. Hawking's life became a study in Capricorn persistence: as his body failed, his mind expanded to encompass the cosmos. Saturn governs structure and boundaries, and Hawking studied the ultimate boundaries — black holes, the edge of the universe, the nature of time itself. The Capricorn gift for distilling complexity into clear principles made him a brilliant communicator of physics to the public.

Synchronicity does not admit causality in the analogy between terrestrial events and astrological constellations ... What astrology can establish are the analogous events, but not that either series is the cause or the effect of the other. (For instance, the same constellation may at one time signify a catastrophe and at another time, in the same case, a cold in the head.) ... In any case, astrology occupies a unique and special position among the intuitive methods... I have observed many cases where a well-defined psychological phase, or an analogous event, was accompanied by a transit (particularly when Saturn and Uranus were affected). - Carl G. Jung
